B Ponce Tips:
Watering: Watering season is here! Overwatering of plants and lawn is a common problem. The mentality we have in our minds is just add more water. What happens when we overwater our plants/lawn? Well when we overwater you remove air from the soil and it can't breathe. This also creates shallow roots, fungal disease will set in and weeds will
flourish. Allow the surface soil to dry out for one inch in depth
between watering to kill off new weeds and insect larvae.
Water your lawn/plants until the top soil is moist. Some areas depending how much sun or if large plants/trees are nearby may need more water to moisten lawn.
Bark: Freshen up your beds with a new layer of bark. Throughout the Oregon seasons with the sun, rain, wind, ice and snow the bark can thin out exposing the precious roots of plants. This can cause your plants roots to dry out. Also as the bark thins it will allow more weeds to come through.
